KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

1.     Provide leadership in developing, rolling out, review and update of detail implementation plan and implementation strategies for sustainable livelihoods interventions program with focus on vocational skill development of youth, skills development for income generation, promoting market linkages and transfer of innovative technologies and setting up SMEs.

2.     Coordinate with Manager M&E and provide technical expertise in design, implementation and update of M&E plan and tools for Livelihoods intervention.

3.     Develop ToRs for implementation of trainings in Income Generating Activities (IGAs) through local implementing partner in coordination with Environment & NRM specialist and training specialist.

4.     Provide technical assistance  to COP and Sr Program Manager in selection process of  appropriate local implementing partner for activity of trainings in  Income Generating Activities (IGAs)

5.     Provide leadership & technical assistance to SCI and Partner staff  in developing beneficiaries selection criteria, need assessment for livelihoods intervention.

6.     Provide technical back stopping and build technical capacity of SCI & Partners staff  to ensure quality and timely delivery of results  in  planning, implementation and monitoring of livelihoods intervention as per result framework

7.     Provide technical support to COP & Program Manager in identification and selection of well reputed Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET) institutes for vocational skill development of youth. Develop ToRs for partnership with TVET institutions to undertake vocational skill development in coordination with training specialist.

8.     In coordination with training specialist , provide advisory support to  TVET institutions for successful planning & implementation of vocational skill development of selected youth.

9.     Ensure selection of appropriate trade/curriculum and efficient learning of youth selected for vocational skill development at TVET institutions.  

10.   Conduct market mapping and prepare appropriate strategies and plans for promoting market linkages.

11.   Conduct periodic reviews with SCI staff and implementing partners to track the progress towards achievement of planned livelihoods specific outcome & outputs mentioned in result framework .

12.   Develop narrative reports on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

13.   Coordinate with advocacy & communication specialist for documentation and sharing of best practices and lesson learnt achieved in sustainable livelihoods intervention.

14.   Promote integration of sustainable livelihoods intervention with work in education and health components of program.

Any other task assigned by COP.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Master's Degree in Social Science from HEC recognized University

At least 10 years of experience in development sector;

At least 6 years of experience in working in livelihoods Sector;

Good understanding of the livelihoods security framework in context of rural Pakistan 

Practical experience of design, implementation & monitoring of livelihoods projects.

Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform;

Demonstrated ability to coordinate and liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders to achieve project results

Demonstrated leadership capacity to analyze problems and issues and to develop technical solutions

Ability to visit project sites in a remote mountainous areas as and when required; 

Ability and willingness to live in an isolated conservative environment in sub-office base with other staff;

Fluency in English ; Pashto language skills will be added advantage

Excellent formal writing skills in English and Urdu.
